The Edna is Accepting Nominations
As you know, the Edna Lifetime Achievement Award is now given every year to someone who has contributed to the promotion of regional cuisine and who exemplifies the region through his or her work. Although last year’s winner is a national figure, Anita Stewart has brought the cause of Canadian food to a vast number of different regions throughout the country.
Start thinking about a winner for 2009. Check out the information given on the Cuisine Canada website and send in your letters of nomination to the University of Guelph at the address given there by August 20, 2009.
We had many qualified nominees last year, and the judges will consider those again along with new nominations, so if you wish to withdraw a letter or add more information to your letter of nomination, please do so. Our very qualified judges from right across Canada will look at each nominee on his or her own merit as set out in the letter; the more information you can send as support, the better.
The winner will be announced as part of the Canadian Culinary Book Awards, this year on November 6th at the Royal Winter Fair.
Thank you in anticipation of your support in making the country aware of this prestigious award.
Sincerely,
Rose Murray (Chair of the award)
