<p>Last year, Cuisine Canada and the University of Guelph launched a new award &#8212; The Culinary Landmarks Hall of Fame. Named after Elizabeth Driver’s groundbreaking book, <em><a href="http://www.utppublishing.com/product.php?productid=901&amp;cat=0&amp;page=1">Culinary Landmarks: A Bibliography of Canadian Cookbooks 1825 – 1949,</a> </em>this award recognizes authors who have produced a stellar culinary book or a series of culinary books that have made a lasting impact upon Canadian cuisine.</p>
<p>This year, we are accepting nominations of outstanding Canadian authors, either living or deceased, whose books have helped shape the Canadian culinary landscape. The book or body or work can be current or past, and can be written in any language. All entries will be considered if they meet the following criteria:</p>
<ul>
<li>Nominators must be Canadian.</li>
<li>Nominees must be Canadian. They may be either alive or deceased.</li>
<li>The publisher must be Canadian.</li>
</ul>
<p>To nominate an author, email a letter of recommendation by<strong> September 30, 2010</strong> to Jo Marie Powers (jmpowers@sentex.net).</p>
<p>The letter should highlight details such as:</p>
<ul>
<li>The name of the author, the title of the the books or books in question, the publisher and publication dates.</li>
<li>How this author’s book or books are a landmark in the culinary field.</li>
<li>Why the book or books will stand the tests of time.</li>
<li>A personal comment on why this author should be placed in the Culinary Landmarks Hall of Fame.</li>
</ul>

<p>The Culinary Landmarks Hall of Fame Award will be presented on Friday, November 5th, 2010 at the Canadian Culinary Book Awards at The Royal Agricultural Winter Fair.</p>
